Jolene Herrera - Designer

It all begins with an idea. Quilts tell stories. They depict time and places, the lives of the people who make them, and capture slices of life.

Jolene graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, with a BFA, Graphic Design. She originally developed Rocking A Design & Quilt Studio to create personalized invitations, birth announcements and corporate identity pieces for companies and private commission.

With the help and encouragement from a close friend, Jolene took her design skills and applied them to a different media. Using her love for color and texture, she designed her first quilt in 2003 for her son.

Jolene has also been involved with a local charity, Quilts for Kids and CARES Northwest. 10% of profits go to CARES Northwest, a collaborative community based medical program for the assessment, treatment and prevention of child abuse.

A native to the Northwest, Jolene enjoys cycling, kayaking and camping with her husband and family. She resides and works in Wilsonville, Oregon.
